British Council Armenia is happy to offer another round of IELTS Teacher Training course composed of six sessions (20 hours) on 24-26 May and 1-2 June 2019.

The course is aimed at newly beginning/relatively experienced IELTS teachers who wish to or are preparing students for the Academic module of the IELTS test. 

The workshops will be delivered by British Council Armenia's ELT Projects Manager, Addeh Hovassapian, trained and certified by British Council France as a British Council validated IELTS Teacher Trainer.

Why to take the course?

IELTS Teacher Training course will allow you to feel more competent about the test's content and its benefits for your students and will equip you with teaching skills and knowledge you need to help your students get a score that truly reflects their language ability.

Course Content

The course content includes:

  • A comprehensive overview of the IELTS test including the test format, structure, and the rationale behind it.
  • An in-depth analysis of the main features of each section of the test (Reading, Speaking, Writing, Listening), allowing you to experience the test first-hand, focusing on those aspects which students may find more difficult and hence consider strategies to tackle them. 
  • Opportunity to try out and closely examine the test items and skills and strategies needed for handling them.

Course Certificate 

All participants will receive British Council Armenia's Certificate of Attendance by the end of the course.

Training Course Fee

The training workshops' fee including all the study materials per participant is 60,000 AMD.

The registration deadline is Monday 20 May 2019 - 15:00 PM.

Workshops delivery

The course involves active teacher participation by exploration and try-out of the ideas and teaching practices as well as the test items to help the learners approach the exam with confidence. The workshops will be delivered face to face in six sessions as outlined below:

Registration and payment

To register in the course:

  1. Fill in the registration form electronically by downloading the registration form.
  2. Fill in the Needs Analysis form. 
  3. Send the filled in registration and Needs Analysis forms to ELT Projects Manager Addeh Hovassapian at addeh.hovassapian@britishcouncil.am to secure your place in the workshop.
  4. Wait to receive a confirmation for eligibility to attend the training and be informed when to make the payment. 
  5. Pay the course fee (60,000 AMD) when informed within three working days.
  6. The payment must be made only via bank transfer to British Council Armenia’s account using the info below:
