We are happy to announce that we will host Penny Ur, the world renowned teacher educator, writer and speaker in Armenia from 5 to 7 October 2018 within our annual “Teacher Development with British Council Armenia” programme. During her visit, Penny will deliver talks and training sessions for English Language Teaching (ELT) specialists working in Armenia.

About Penny Ur
Penny Ur was born in the UK, took graduate and post-graduate degrees at Oxford and Cambridge Universities, and moved to Israel in 1967. She has thirty-five years’ experience as an English teacher in elementary, middle and high schools, and has also taught BA and MA courses at Oranim Academic College of Education and Haifa University. Her primary interest is practical aspects of effective English language teaching, on which she has presented lectures and workshops at TESOL, IATEFL and other English teachers’ conferences worldwide.
In 2013 she was awarded the OBE for services to English language teaching. Her books include Grammar practice activities (2nd Edition) (2009), Vocabulary activities (2012), A course in English language teaching (2012), Discussions and more (2014), Penny Ur’s 100 teaching tips (2016), all published by Cambridge University Press.
Event Participation
All the sessions are open to all interested teachers and educators - free of charge.
However, interested individuals need to register for the event by filling in our online registration form and indicating the sessions they would like to attend.
The registration deadline for the sessions is 17 September 2018 at noon.

- Important note 1: all the session will be delivered in English.
- Important note 2: There is a room capacity limitation and upon exceeding number of registrations, “First come - First served” policy will be used.
Certificate of Attendance
All participants will receive a British Council Certificate of Attendance with Penny Ur’s signature.
Each participant will receive only one certificate indicating the title of sessions attended. To receive a certificate, attendance in each registered session is required.
On the Event Days
All registered participants to enter the workshops venue will need to show up at least 30 minutes before the event’s start time for a quick in-venue re-registration.
The sessions will start sharp on the times indicated.

Ani Plaza Hotel and the conference venue is accessible for wheelchair users.
